New Accumulation VUL

John Hancock's new Accumulation VUL is one of the best products in the industry for both retirement cash values and income potential, particularly for highly funded cases. Clients get the protection they need, while benefiting from both tax-deferred growth potential and tax-favored withdrawals. Additionally, John Hancock is temporarily offering expanded Dollar Cost Averaging1 options on Accumulation VUL - allowing clients to take advantage of an increased Fixed Account rate. And, with higher target premiums, no policy charges after age 100, and the new Standard Plus risk class - it offers clients a winning game plan.

1. Dollar Cost Averaging does not assure a profit or protect against loss in a declining market.  Systematic investing involves continuous allocation in securities, regardless of price level fluctuations. Interest earned on policy value allocated to the Fixed Account will be credited on a declining balance as a portion of the policy value is transferred from the Fixed Account each month.  Fixed Account rates are annualized and subject to change. Enhanced Fixed Account rate is only available on Accumulation VUL ’09 (09ACCVUL) through December 31, 2009.  After December 31, 2009, policy value allocated to the Fixed Account will receive the then current crediting rate.

Guaranteed product features are dependent upon minimum premium requirements and the claims-paying ability of the issuer.

Insurance policies and/or associated riders and features may not be available in all states.

Variable universal life insurance has annual fees and expenses associated with it in addition to life insurance related charges (which differ with the product chosen), including surrender charges and investment management fees. Variable universal life insurance products are long-term contracts and are sold by prospectus. They are subject to market risk due to the underlying sub-accounts, and are unsuitable as a short term savings vehicle. The primary purpose of variable universal life insurance is to provide lifetime protection against economic loss due to the death of the insured person. Cash values are not guaranteed if the client is invested in the investment accounts. There are risks associated with each investment option, and the policy may lose value.

The No-Lapse Guarantee (NLG) is automatically included with Protection VUL & Protection SVUL. The Extended No-Lapse Guarantee (ENLG) requires an additional cost and is available only on Protection VUL and Protection SVUL. Both riders guarantee that your policy will not default, even if the cash surrender value falls to zero or below, as long as the minimum NLG and/or ENLG premium requirement and the cumulative premium test (performed at the point of lapse) are met. The maximum duration of the NLG is 20 years and may be less at older ages. In Illinois the NLG is called "Death Benefit Protection."
